| Expanding Demolition Firm Reinforces Relationship With Asbestos Experts
Rapidly growing local firm Total Reclaims Demolition Limited have given thumbs up to asbestos experts HB Insulations, establishing them as a permanent fixture on their approved contractors list. Total Reclaims have just undergone a total relocation, moving from their city centre base out to Hucknall.
In September the firm occupied a new office suite and workshop space built on half an acre of land. And to complement their main operations a further 3 acre recycling centre site for construction and demolition waste has been purchased and is now operational enabling them to crush inert arisings generated from their sites and recycle into aggregates for resale.
Stella Wright MIDE, health and safety representative at Total Reclaims is delighted with the move. “We can’t believe how much room we have now, it’s enabling us to progress with the many plans, both environmentally and contractually we have for the company,” she says.
Stella is also delighted with the level of service the firm are receiving from local asbestos removal specialists HB Insulations. The firms initially worked together on the demolition project for ABC Cinemas, a disused old cinema that was demolished to pave the way for a brand new leisure and living complex in Leicester.
“We were first drawn to them because of their technical understanding at design stage on what was a very complex project as well as being extremely competitive in terms of cost,” she says. “Both management and site personnel proved themselves professionally and had such a depth of understanding of the project that we had no hesitation in immediately engaging their services for other projects we had in the pipeline. They are now on our approved contractors list and every enquiry we receive that includes the element of licensed asbestos works, goes to them for pricing.”
Total Reclaims use HB Insulations for asbestos surveying now too to ensure compliance with CDM2007 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations, as well as asbestos removal. According to Stella the company has built up a strong confidence in HB Insulations, as every project that they have been contracted to carry out has been completed efficiently and problem-free.
